Higher-order thinking through questioning

In my classroom I use a point system when encouraging students to ask 'good' or 'rich' questions. After receiving lots of student input into how we can create a system, we came up with definitions for 1-point, 2-point and 3-point questions.

It's been a great tool in my Stage 2 and 3 classes when guiding students to ask questions that lead to exploring wonderings they have. Upon closer research, I discovered that what we have produced it hugely consistent with Bloom's Taxonomy. The 1-point question is about developing knowledge and understanding, the 2-point question leads to applying and analysing ideas and the 3-point question is about thinking critically and creatively through evaluating and creating.
