Sad state of education in Nigeria

I cannot fathom being in a place where its considered 'normal' not to attend school. This is the way it is for girls in Nigeria, especially in secondary schools. This article from the Guardian, highlights many of the current educational issues in Nigeria.

"As well as calling for decisive action to bring back our girls, we should push Nigeria to invest more in schools, take a tougher stance on student security, and work harder at closing the gender gap in education. Communities need to be persuaded that educating girls is vital, and reassured that schools are safe enough to attend."

These are enormous issues. Definitely a space that is worth exploring with students.
